Object: In the context of strengthening the interconnection and interdependence of national economies, the internationalization of economic life is moving to a qualitatively new level of world economic relations. The integration process, which develops at two levels, one of which is global and the other is regional, is characterized by both the growing dependence of national economies on the world economy and the economic convergence of countries uniting into groups. Methods: General scientific methods of ascent from the abstract to the concrete, analysis and synthesis, system analysis. Results: The experience of implementing integration associations shows that this form is a kind of compensation for the process of transnationalization of economies and a group of countries with similar levels of economic development leads to good results. Conclusions: The comprehensive study carried out in the work made it possible to single out the world-system approach (hierarchy of countries based on the nature and stage of their participation in the value chain); geo-economic approach (allows to identify new forms of international division of labor: intra-industry, node-by-node, as well as technological and globalization of the world economic space, which considers the interdependence of the processes of transnationalization and integration into regional unions and blocs, as a method of protecting their economies by creating competitive price advantages of regional economic spaces).
