The role and importance of retail e-commerce in modern conditions

Abstract

In the article the role of electronic commerce is discussed, allowing companies to conduct internal operations, efficiently and flexibly, interact with suppliers more closely and respond to customer requests faster, regardless of geographic location, as well as the possibility of entering the global market with their goods and services. The author identified the problems of e-commerce development: the distrust of some consumers; tax incentives; legal support; pricing; undeveloped infrastructure. The article notes that the main indicators of the quality of online shoppers are the average online costs and frequency of purchases. The author calculated the specific gravity of retail e-commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the total retail turnover, and also the countries in which electronic commerce has a significant impact on the development of world trade and the economy as a whole are determined. The article presents the following characteristic features of the further development of retail e-commerce: it contributes to cost reduction and expansion of the potential market for goods; depends on the type of a product and costs associated with processing orders, delivery to consumers and the level of service; depends on the use of modern and constantly emerging newest Internet technologies; attracts buyers from around the globe, regardless of their location.
